Melbourne Polytechnic’s state-of-the-art Technical Education Centre (TEC) is a purpose-built hub for TAFE and secondary school programs located at our Heidelberg campus.
Study for your Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) at the TEC. You can choose from Foundation, Intermediate and Senior programs, or specialised streams including building and construction trades, community programs, hospitality, multimedia, music and animal studies. In addition to VCAL, you can study a variety of pre-apprenticeships (pre-vocational courses) in industries such as bricklaying, cabinet making, carpentry, painting, furniture, plumbing and shopfitting.
Our passionate and experienced teachers oversee professional development programs for our vocational education students. These programs teach general employability skills training as well as assistance with finding work experience placements, negotiating apprenticeships and general career information and advice. Melbourne Polytechnic’s TEC also provides services to local schools including expos, teacher mentoring and training partnerships with industry including Melbourne Polytechnic-owned enterprises and local industry enterprises.
