Restaurants

Melbourne Polytechnic would like to reassure our community that we are following advice from the Victorian Government in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and our wider community continues to be our highest priority.

With this in mind St Georges Restaurant and The Apprentice Cafe are now closed and will remain closed until 17 April 2020.

Thank you for your understanding.

Melbourne Polytechnic has two fully equipped training restaurants where you can learn the art of commercial cookery, train as front of house staff or grab a delicious bite to eat. Our students serve up the best in contemporary dining under the guidance of extensively experienced chefs.

Both of our restaurants serve ingredients processed by learning students from our 500ha broad acre farm at Yan Yean and our Aquaculture Training and Applied Research Centre. Treat yourself to lunch or dinner at our restaurants and relish our modern and innovative degustation and à la carte menus at one of our two restaurants:

St Georges restaurant update.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and following advice from both Federal and State Governments, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Australian Department of Health, the World Health Organization, Department of Education Victoria and more recently Worksafe Victoria, planned events in St Georges are being cancelled or modified.

  1. The Classical Buffets which were to run from Tuesday 31st March to Thursday 2nd of April are cancelled, and instead the usual à la carte menu will be in place.
  2. High Teas will be restricted to 60 patrons.

Please note: Other than the impact on events, at this stage St Georges will continue to operate as normal.

Thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time.
