Hospitality and Cookery Training Facilities

Excel in the hospitality service industry at Melbourne Polytechnic's Hospitality and Cookery Facilities.

Based across two campuses at Preston and Prahran, our extensive facilities include two public-facing restaurants (St Georges at Preston and the Apprentice at Prahran) and multiple commercial-grade kitchens including commercial bakery equipment.

Our facilities are used to train our hospitality, cookery and bakery students.

Our kitchens are fully equipped with ample space for food preparation, full-scale refrigeration and storage areas, commercial grills and stove tops back-of-house service zone and cleaning apparatus including large commercial sinks and dishwashers.

Restaurant-based hospitality students will learn modern point of sale and restaurant management software and be exposed to how a restaurant and commercial kitchen can run seamlessly through public events and day-to-day service.

All staff and lecturers in our cookery, bakery and hospitality programs have extensive experience in the hospitality industry and are versed in the traditional and modern tricks of the trade.
