Launch your career in a priority trade and get the skills to start your electrical apprenticeship. This electrotechnology course provides training in basic electrical theory, electrical workshop practices, wiring and basic installation skills.

You'll get to use power tools and hand tools while getting an introduction to the electrotechnology industry and jobs.

This course is designed to introduce you to electrical practices and improve your employability so you can pathway into an apprenticeship in the Electrical industry.

Study pathways

Successful completion of this course provides opportunity to continue onto an apprenticeship and, following further study, attain your Certificate III in Electrotchnology Electrician UEE30820.

Wednesday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and Wednesday 1 pm to 5 pm

Credit in VCE or VCE VM

This course provides recognition of two units at Units 1 and 2 levels and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

ATAR contribution

If you receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence, you will be eligible for an increment towards your ATAR (10% of the average four scaled studies). This course does not offer scored assessment.

Next steps

Schools can submit VET applications using our secure online school portal. Students may be required to attend an information session and/or interview. Schools will receive an email to confirm applications have been accepted and then, students and schools will be emailed enrolment procedures. Once enrolled, VET school coordinators can use the portal to monitor their students’ attendance and progress.
