About Martin Selley

"Martin Selley’s story is one of resilience, craftsmanship, and a “never give up” attitude. Born in Germany in 1897, he fled Nazi persecution and arrived in Australia in 1939 with his wife, young son, and only a few pounds to his name. Starting over in Sydney, he mixed products by hand, carried heavy materials himself, and pushed through countless setbacks until his hard work and persistence paid off.

Through determination and innovation, Martin turned his skills into practical solutions that set new standards for quality, eventually building the iconic household brand, Selleys. Guided by integrity, ambition, and a commitment to helping others, he proved that even the toughest challenges can be overcome with courage and perseverance. His legacy continues to inspire those chasing their own goals today."
