Breastfeeding facilities

We are committed to supporting staff and students who wish to breastfeed or express milk while at work or during study. We provide safe, private and comfortable spaces on campus to ensure everyone can balance their work, study and family needs.

Access to breastfeeding rooms

Breastfeeding rooms are located at:

Each room is equipped with:

  • Breastfeeding chair with footrest
  • Refrigerator for milk storage
  • Waste disposal facilities.

These spaces are designed to support the needs of staff and students in a welcoming and convenient environment.

Other campuses

Students and staff that need a private space to feed or express milk at other campuses can contact Integrated Services to arrange a room. 

Guidelines for use of the room

  1. Phone Integrated Services on 03 9269 1559 to request a key for the room.
  2. Label your milk if you choose to store it in the fridge during the day.
  3. Remember to take your milk home at the end of the day.
  4. To maintain a clean and welcoming space, please do not store any other items and kindly dispose of rubbish in the provided bin.
  5. When you no longer need access to this room, inform Integrated Services and return the key.

Your Rights

Under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth), it is unlawful to discriminate against a person for breastfeeding or expressing milk. This means you have the right to breastfeed or express milk anywhere you are otherwise permitted to be on campus.

We are committed to upholding these rights and ensuring all staff and students are treated with respect and dignity.
