Applying for Refunds

This is for non-Special Circumstances refunds for students fully or partially withdrawing prior to or within 28 days of confirmed course commencement or re-enrolment commencement date.

Applying for a refund

Your eligibility for a refund depends on your level of study, the reason for refund, and the date you withdraw from a unit or course.

To apply for a refund you must:

  • complete the Refunds Application Form.
    • This must be submitted within 28 days from confirmed course commencement to be considered for a refund assessment.
  • Withdraw prior to or within 28 days of confirmed course commencement via:

Important refund information

  • An administrative fee of $50.00 will be deducted from all refunds for certificate I–IV courses except where the course is cancelled by the Institute. Where fees paid are less than the $50.00 administrative fee, this may result in no refund being issued.
  • Tuition Payment Plans (DebitSuccess)
    • No refund of DebitSuccess 4.7% Billing Fee where repayments have been debited.
    • No refund of initial DebitSuccess $15.00 Administration Fee after the 5 day Cool Off Period.
  • Full refund of all payments will be made for ANY course cancelled by Melbourne Polytechnic providing the student submits the Application for Refund of Fees form.
  • Refund of fees will not be granted after twenty-eight (28) days of course commencement or re-enrolment commencement date for Certificate I-IV courses, and after census date for Diploma-level and above courses.
