Sound Production Interview Advice

Preparing for your sound and music production interview.

Melbourne Polytechnic offers a range of sound and music production courses designed to cater for a variety of skills and backgrounds.

The purpose of an interview is for you to share your aspirations and career objectives, and for us to evaluate your current skills and knowledge. It is through this process that we are then able to place you in the most relevant course to enable you to develop and achieve your goals in sound and music production fields.

Interview

Book an interview here.

Interviews typically run for 30 – 45 minutes. When you attend your interview, make sure you bring evidence of previous activities and existing skills including examples of your work relevant to course, such as:

  • Sound recordings (mp3 on USB preferred). Be prepared to explain your involvement, including technical details.
  • Digital Audio project session on a laptop with DAW e.g. Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, etc
  • Work-related documents such as contracts and confirmation of work, schedules, planning docs, patch lists, appraisals, reviews etc

Personal references can help us get to know your key strengths in a brief amount of time
