Enrol in a Higher Education degree at Melbourne Polytechnic

Once you have chosen the course that is right for you, it’s time to apply.

High School leavers can apply for your course through VTAC. If you’re only applying for your chosen course at Melbourne Polytechnic, you can apply direct as High School Leaver.

If you’re a Non-School Leaver, click ‘Apply Now’ on the course page or contact us via phone (1300 635 276) to start your enrolment. Once you’ve completed the initial application form, you will receive an email with a link to your complete online application called the e-Form. Fill this out and submit it online.

VTAC application information. 

After you have submitted your online application, some courses also require you to attend an interview or audition. The course page and/or an Advisor will let you know if this is the case. You can book your interview or audition via the online booking system. You can find a link to this on your relevant course page.

In most cases, this is an informal discussion around your creative practice, technical skills, what you hope to gain from study. It includes a short performance, or a presentation of a folio of work, demonstrating your ideas, skills, and abilities.

Once your application has been assessed, you will be contacted by the Department with an offer, or to let you know that your application was unsuccessful.

If unsuccessful, the Department may be able to provide you with further guidance or alternative course options.

After your application has been processed by Melbourne Polytechnic and you’re successful, you will be offered a place in your chosen course. To accept your application and enrol you need to complete the enrolment forms that will be sent to you via email.

You may want or need to attend an Information and Enrolment Session to ensure the course is the right fit, and complete your enrolment.

Before you come in to enrol, make sure you have all of your documents in order. This is what you need to bring in:

• eForm – Before attending an Information and Enrolment Session or an appointment with a Course Administrator, complete your eForm that was emailed to you. Note down your reference number and course name.
• One of the following as proof of citizenship or residency –
  • Australian Birth Certificate
  • Current Australian Passport
  • Letter of Grant of Australian Citizenship
  • Change of name document (where relevant)
  • Permanent Humanitarian VISA (PHV)
• If you’re applying for Credit Transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Statement of Results and Transcripts from other study, and/or
  • An updated curriculum vitae or evidence to demonstrate informal learning

Depending on your study option and choice of course, there may be other requirements that need to be met prior to enrolment (such as submission of a portfolio). You will be advised during the progress of your enrolment.

Melbourne Polytechnic will advise you of the applicable course fees, payment options (i.e. FEE-HELP loans), and finalise your enrolment by completing the fee payment.
