Anura is a professional chef and culinary instructor at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Anura was the chef saucier at the Atlantic Group in Central Pier Docklands from 2013. He was responsible for all the proteins, stocks and soups for up to 1600 customers. He brings years of real world industry experience to Melbourne Polytechnic’s Hospitality department. Anura has taught at Melbourne Polytechnic since 2017, maintaining his work as a professional chef. He uses his professional career experience to teach his students practical applications of culinary theory, all with a real world foundation. Anura enjoys engaging with his students and promotes reflection at the end of each session for continuous improvement for both students and teacher. Anura holds a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. He is currently studying for his Diploma in Vocational Education and Training.
