Cathy Frazer has held various roles within the VET and Higher Education sectors both in Australia and overseas. Cathy practiced as a Counselling Psychologist in Ireland and also worked within the Higher Education sector there before moving to Melbourne.
Cathy has held various roles at RMIT University and Melbourne Polytechnic over the past 18 years, always with a focus on the student experience, student outcomes and equity issues. In 2019, Cathy was appointed to the role of Executive Director of Student Engagement, International and Community Partnerships.
Cathy was instrumental in developing Melbourne Polytechnic's Inaugural Disability Action Plan and Chaired the institute's Disability Steering Committee for many years. She is a strong advocate for the inclusion of all students at Melbourne Polytechnic including those with disabilities, CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
As Executive Director Student Experience, Cathy oversees all aspects of the Student Experience beyond the classroom at Melbourne Polytechnic and is passionate about continually improving outcomes for students.
Cathy’s qualifications include MSc Counselling Psychology, Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and Graduate Certificate in Careers Counselling.
