Are you an experienced Conveyancer or legal professional who has a passion to teach others?

Melbourne Polytechnic delivers the Advanced Diploma Conveyancing course at the Preston campus.

The course is designed to provide training for career success in a professional learning environment that is both challenging and motivating with the goal of  Victorian registration with the Business Licensing Authority as a Conveyancer  or entry level employment into the property settlement industry .

 You can expect your role of Teacher to be challenging, but also rewarding.  You are required to have current conveyancing experience, either as a registered conveyancer or legal representative, with practical experience in:

  • Day to day running of residential and commercial property matters
  • Managing files start to finish - draft, review, negotiate and advise on residential and commercial contracts (including off the plan)
  • Carrying out due diligence, preparing of transfer documents and other required pre-settlement conveyancing forms
  • Arranging for settlement with all parties and conducting settlement via  PEXA
  • Acting on transfers, refinance matters, discharge of mortgages etc
  • Preparation of leases
  • Preparation of option agreements
  • Preparation of loan documents
  • Preparing sale and purchase of business documents

We require the successful applicant to teach the Advanced Diploma Conveyancing on a sessional basis min 1 night per week, from 6.00pm – 9.00pm

 You must hold

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • BSB61115 Advanced Diploma Conveyancing or equivalent or a law degree

Employment Status:  Casual teacher to December 2020 unless otherwise determined.

Location: Preston Campus

Payment is at the rate of:

  • $72.27 per hour for Casual Teaching -Certificate IV qualified
  • $75.12 per hour for Casual Teaching-Diploma or equivalent (AQF5) teacher training qualified.
  • $78.08 per hour for Casual Teaching-AQF6 teacher training qualified

Salary is based on the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement 2018 and the appropriate qualifications and experience.
