What the new Business Department Structure means to you
An industry practicum also provides a focus on the development of real world skills, employability and engagement with your chosen business profession. In addition, certain subjects will allow you to take part in guest lecturers from the industry and field trips.
Depending on your choice of specialisation, you may be eligible for membership to several professional bodies.
Skills Recognition is the general term given for the assessment of an applicant’s previous learning or skills development for the purpose of gaining credits or exemptions for a partial qualification. Students can apply for skills recognition based on the following:
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is specifically designed for students who have previous life or work experience that is related to the qualification they are wishing to gain. The service enables students to minimise the amount of formal training required to gain a qualification.
Students can gain credit in this program based on previously successfully completion of the same or equivalent unit of competency or module at another educational institution. Students will need to provide proof of the completion of these units in order to receive exemptions/credit for Melbourne Polytechnic subjects.
More information on the skills recognition process can be discussed by calling us, during the enrolment process or during your studies with us.
