Melbourne Polytechnic has been delivering vocational education and training (VET) to people with disabilities since 1977. Our department and work has been further acknowledged by the Department of Education and Training - Higher Education and Skills Group, to be included on the Preferred Provider list for Foundation Courses.
Work Education Department staff work closely with students with disabilities in a cooperative partnership. Our commitment is to meet students' individual needs assisting to develop vocational, social and employability skills in preparing for employment and participating in the community.
Our approach is flexible, inclusive and supportive, to enhance your resilience and self-confidence. A strong component of the courses is practical placement and voluntary work in industry to ensure you gain hands on experience in the workplace that matches your skills, interests and aspirations. The department is proud of its excellent retention rates testifying to our ability to engage and retain learners with complex needs.
We have experienced qualified teaching staff with extensive experience and qualifications in a variety of industries such as Hospitality, Construction, Multimedia, Arts, Sports and much more and provide career planning - a whole of life approach by qualified career advisors.
