Thamer has over 39 years’ experience as a civil engineer including a wide range of civil engineering branches such as: structural, concrete technology, geotechnical, transportation, surveying engineering.
He has extensive practical experience and a strong background in academia, having spent much of his career consulting on projects whilst simultaneously employed as a lecturer/tutor.
Dr. Thamer graduated from Mosul University (Iraq)/ civil engineering on 1984 and completed PhD in structural engineering from Swinburne University of Technology on 2017. He is now working as laboratories Technician Engineering at Melbourne Polytechnic and casual lecturer. Thamer is interested in working in projects of strengthening concrete using different types of materials like carbon fibers.
