Dr Sazia Parvin

Dr Sazia Parvin is an A. Professor and Head of Programs – Information Technology at Melbourne Polytechnic. She holds a PhD in Cyber Security and Data Security from Curtin University and has over 15 years of academic experience across leading Australian universities, including Curtin University, UNSW, and Deakin University.

With a strong research background in data and cyber security and big data analytics, Dr Parvin has made significant scholarly contributions through more than 93 peer-reviewed publications and several competitive research grants. She also serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief for two international journals, contributing to the advancement of global research in information and cyber security.

Dr Parvin is widely recognised for her innovative, student-centred teaching and commitment to academic excellence. Her pedagogical approach emphasises inclusive, engaging, and industry-relevant learning experiences. In her current leadership role, she oversees the design, delivery, accreditation, and quality assurance of IT programs across domestic and international campuses.

She has also led strategic collaborations with key industry partners, including the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to enhance graduate employability, industry engagement, and work-integrated learning opportunities.
