On September 10, 2025, Melbourne Polytechnic announced the official establishment of Melbourne Polytechnic Vietnam (MPV) in Da Nang city.
This initiative was developed in collaboration with our onshore partner, FPT Corporation and expands MPV’s footprint to 3 onshore campuses – Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and now Da Nang, with a fourth campus earmarked for Can Tho for 2026.
The event marks an exciting step forward in Melbourne Polytechnic’s global education journey, bringing our world-class training programs closer to students in the central region of Vietnam.
This development has been made possible with support from a $280,000 Victorian Government, Yes to International Students grant to develop and grow innovative international partnerships.
The launch event also featured the signing of strategic agreements between MPV and nearly 20 leading enterprises in Da Nang, creating opportunities for students to combine academic learning with real-world industry experiences.
With the new campus, Vietnamese students can now access the benefits of international education on shore, while earning a Melbourne Polytechnic qualification, which is globally recognised and can open doors to career opportunities in Vietnam and beyond.
Melbourne Polytechnic Vice President of International Development, Tim Gilbert said, “This is a significant milestone event, underscoring our shared commitment to expanding our global footprint and delivering high-quality international education opportunities for students in Vietnam”.
Building on more than 25 years of transnational education, Melbourne Polytechnic has the largest cohort of international students in Victoria’s vocational and education (VET) sector.
With strong partnerships with 15 institutions across Asia, our programs blend on and offshore education and training offering flexibility and mobility to both students and teachers.
Melbourne Polytechnic has cultivated long-term international programs with 15 partner institutions in China (including Hong Kong), Vietnam, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Indonesia.
