Margot Pascual has arrived at Melbourne Polytechnic from Barcelona, Spain. Margot’s partner is on an internship as a professor at RMIT School of Architecture, so whilst they were here, Margot decided to enrol at Melbourne Polytechnic to refresh and improve her English language skills. Margot is a journalist in her native Spain and has three sons, one of whom is travelling with his parents.
Margot was most impressed at Melbourne Polytechnic's cultural approach to learning – not just classroom based activities, but different subjects and excursions to enhance her everyday experience. Although Margot learned English when she attended university, she hasn’t lived in an English speaking country and foyund the experience a little daunting “my first days here in Melbourne, I felt very lost because I was not able to understand at all the Australian accent. Joining the ELICOS program was an excellent decision because after a few weeks in class I was more confident about the possibilities to improve my every day English”.
“Furthermore, I found here a multicultural environment that I loved very much, very competent teachers with a solid background and good skills that always made the lessons interesting ad helpful”.
