How to Enrol – VET

The Enrolment Process (VET – Local Students)

Enrolment Process

Outlined below is each step of the enrolment process so that you can check what you’ll need and what to do next:

  1. Choose Course

Select from hundreds of courses online or book a time to meet with an Education and Course Advisor who will work with you to craft your own unique learning and career journey.

Have a question? Click the Enquire Now button on the specific course page.

  2. Apply Online

Click the Apply Now button on the specific course page or contact us via phone 03 9269 8400 so we can help you with your application.

  3. Interview/Audition

Some courses (such as those in visual or performing arts) require an interview or audition in addition to your online application. After completing your online application, book an interview or audition via our online booking system. In most cases, this is an informal discussion around your creative practice, technical skills, what you hope to gain from study and includes presentation of a folio of work, demonstrating your ideas, skill or ability.

For those courses that require an interview or audition, teaching staff will contact you afterwards with either an offer of a place in the course or provide further guidance and discuss alternative course options.

  4. Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Prior to enrolment each student is required by the government to register for a Unique Student Identifier. This can be completed online: https://www.usi.gov.au/.

Click here for a video on how to create your USI.

  5. Pre-Training Review

A pre-training review is used to determine your competency levels and digital skills to assist us to tailor your training plan. The review also helps to identify skills recognition and credit transfers when applying for a vocational education course.

  6. Training Plan

We do a final confirmation of your study plan, and book your place in the course (pending payment).

  7. Eligibility Check

Here’s where we review and record your ID, Citizenship/Residency and if applicable, Concession status. Find out more about Government Health Care card at https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/health-care-card

  8. Fees & Payment

We’ll run through course fees, payment options, Government VET Student Loan eligibility and finalise enrolment by completing fee payment.
