How to Enrol – VET

The Enrolment Process (VET – Local Students)

Congratulations on choosing and applying for your course of study! The following steps will help guide you through enrolment and confirm your place in the course.

Checklist:

1. Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Prior to enrolment each student is required by the government to register for a Unique Student Identifier. This can be completed online: https://www.usi.gov.au/

Click here for a video on how to create your USI.

2. Pre-Training Review

A pre-training review is used to determine why you have chosen to do this course and how it meets your aspirations and interests. It also helps us to understand your competency levels and digital skills to assist us to tailor your training plan.

The Pre-Training Review also helps to identify skills recognition and credit transfers when applying for a vocational education course.

The Pre-Training Review is a paper based document and is completed at an Information session or with an Education and Course Advisor.

3. Literacy and Numeracy Indicator

Each student is required by the state government to undertake a Literacy and Numeracy assessment, regardless if you have a previous qualification. This assessment is completed online. Our Education and Course Advisors will provide a unique login. Thereafter provide the assessment score outcome to you.

4. Training Plan

The Training Plan is your study plan, this document list all the modules you and hours you are enrolled. This document also identifies the course code, start date, support requirements, delivery modes and assessment methods

5. Eligibility Check

Here’s where we review and record your ID, Citizenship/Residency and if applicable, concession status.

Check to see if you can get state government-subsidised training:
https://www.skills.vic.gov.au/victorianskillsgateway/Students/Pages/vtg-eligibility-indicator.aspx

For concession options, find out more about Government Health Care card:
https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/health-care-card

6. Fees & Payment

We’ll run through course fees, payment options, Government VET Student Loan eligibility and finalise enrolment by completing fee payment.

Your enrolment is not confirmed until payment is made.

7. Interview/Audition (applicable courses only)

Some courses, such as those visual or performing arts require an interview or audition in addition to your online application. After completing your online application, book an interview or audition via our online booking system. In most cases, this is an informal discussion around your creative practice, technical skills, what you hope to gain from study and includes presentation of a folio of work, demonstrating your ideas, skill or ability.

For those courses that require an interview or audition, teaching staff will contact you afterwards with either an offer of a place in the course or provide further guidance and discuss alternative course options.
