The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL )is a hands-on study option for recognised and accredited senior secondary school certificates. If you’re still at school or have already left, and are over 15 years old, this course is a great way to broaden your options for further study or work.
Melbourne Polytechnic offers a variety of VCAL programs covering different industry areas from carpentry to creative industries. After completing a VCAL program, you can go on to complete a pre-apprenticeship course, an apprenticeship or commence a vocational education and training (VET) course. Melbourne Polytechnic’s range of VCAL programs include a VCAL Ticket to a Trade, where you can try out different trades to help you find a career path that best suits you.
VCAL at the TEC Centre on Heidelberg campus is home to the General VCAL Program. You can undertake a VCAL program for a semester to decide which study area to pursue. You can continue in the General VCAL Program, undertaking units from Business and Information Technology.
