If you would like to get into work and learn new skills then we can offer you a range of courses.

If you would like to undertake study to achieve your goals and are affected by a disability, then these specifically-designed courses will benefit you. You can go at your own pace, and we’ll help you to develop your skill set and get to where you want to be. You will gain skills and knowledge in:

There are also opportunities to do placements in workplaces so you can learn ‘on the job’.

The performing arts course is supported by the City of Darebin, which provides activity opportunities for students in Darebin's Arts and Cultural Development Branch.

Certificate I in Food Processing - Work Education
Learn the skills you need to gain employment in food production or a kitchen with Melbourne Polytechnic's Certificate I in Food Processing.

Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Our Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy will help develop your literacy, numeracy and communication skills for the workplace. This training will improve your interpersonal skills and increase your self-esteem and confidence.

Certificate I in Transition Education - Work Education Department
You may come to us from school. You want to learn independent life skills, gain more confidence and improve social skills to participate in the community or progress to further study after this course.

Certificate I in Work Education - Hospitality
Melbourne Polytechnic's Certificate I in Work Education (Hospitality) will help you find your niche in hospitality. Whether your goal is to do further study or to gain employment, we’ll design an individual education program to meet your learning needs

Certificate I in Work Education - Ignition Theatre
Are you aged 16 years and above? Do you want to learn life and work skills before you look for a job? Could you be planning to do more study?

Certificate I in Work Education - General

Certificate II in Food Processing - Work Education
Studying a Certificate II in Food Processing will help you secure employment in food production or a kitchen.

Certificate II in Work Education
Develop skills in both the classroom and on the job in the Certificate II in Work Education. You’ll learn vocational, job-seeking, teamwork and communication skills. Our qualified advisors and educators will help you respond to a continually changing world.

Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Melbourne Polytechnic's Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy is a program designed to improve skills in reading, writing, numeracy, listening and oral communication based on your needs and interests to increase independence and active participation in the community.

Short Courses
Textile Art
This Melbourne Polytechnic program will allow students with a disability and/or learning difficulties to explore every day art and sculptures, and participate community art projects.

Garden Maintenance
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with a disability and/or learning difficulties will plan a garden project.

Choir
Get in tune with Melbourne Polytechnic's short course choir! Students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore various musical styles.

Animation
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore different aspects of animation and its use in the commercial world. Commercials, cartoons, films and comics are included.

Cafe Culture
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore the industry via visits to coffee shops.

Life Skills Cooking
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will learn how to stock a pantry with cooking essentials, and to cook simple meals on a budget.

A Fitter Me
In this Melbourne Polytechnic training program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will learn about improving their health and wellbeing.

Introduction Into Hospitality
Melbourne Polytechnic training program, offers participants with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will have an opportunity for participants to work together in a project based setting to enhance skills in cleaning and maintaining kitchen and equipment, hygiene and food safety, basic food preparation and venue set up.

Multimedia
Melbourne Polytechnic’s program is offering participants with a disability and/or learning difficulties the opportunity to work together in a project based setting to enhance skills in using multimedia in the workplace and for personal use.

Hair and Beauty
In this program for people with disabilities and/or learning needs participants will develop skills to enhance personal presentation using simple hair and beauty techniques.

Taster Elective
Try your hand at a new skill with our 'Taster' electives. If you want to take the next step in your career, but you're not quite sure which direction to take, this short course is for you.

Introduction to Trades
Melbourne Polytechnic's program is offering participants with a disability and/or learning difficulties the opportunity to work together in a project based setting to enhance skills across a number of industries.

Clerical
In this short course, individuals with learning needs and disabilities who are still in school can begin to plan for pathways post-school and start to integrate into adult education tertiary education.

Community
Melbourne Polytechnic's program will assist students with a disability and/or learning difficulties to develop skills to enjoy greater independence to participate in the community.

Dance and Movement
In this Melbourne Polytechnic training program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will have an opportunity for students to work together in a project based setting to enhance skills dance and movement, production and performing arts industry.

Performing Arts
Melbourne Polytechnic training program is offering, participants with disabilities and/or learning difficulties an opportunity for participants to work together in a project based setting to enhance skills in theatre and production, set design and construction, staging and production and performing arts industry.
