Step straight onto the worksite when you graduate

Melbourne Polytechnic is Melbourne’s most technologically-advanced and renowned provider of construction trade qualifications.

If you’ve dreamed of working with your hands, working for yourself and being part of an industry that’s always in demand, studying Construction Trades is the first step towards a successful future. You can choose from Bricklaying, Carpentry, Electronics and Electrical, Furniture and Cabinet Marking, Joinery, Shopfitting and Stairbuilding, Locksmithing, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Waterproofing. Study as part of an apprenticeship or choose a different pathway.

All of our courses are developed closely with industry bodies and are taught by experienced tradespeople. You’ll learn the latest, industry-relevant skills in our purpose-built facilities that simulate real working environments, preparing you with hands-on experience.  Our professional-standard facilities include the Green Skills Centre, a renewable energy training centre, with practical applications for all construction trades. At Melbourne Polytechnic, we’re also strongly dedicated to supporting a diverse industry, including assisting women who are interested in entering Construction Trades.

Graduates from Melbourne Polytechnic’s Construction Trades courses may find work as a bricklayer, carpenter, electrician, carpenter, shopfitter, locksmith, painter or plumber, working for a large business or working directly for themselves.
