The Victorian Government funded TAFE Teacher Incentive payment initiative will support hundreds of experienced workers to retrain become TAFE teachers.
This means TAFE students can continue to receive the very best training from teachers who have
years of on-the-job experience.
Every course taught at TAFE needs an industry expert with the know-how to teach it. You name
the TAFE course and if you’re qualified, you could teach it.

Changing careers can be daunting. The $10,000 TAFE Teaching Incentive payment is designed to help make the transition to a new career a less challenging reality for you.
If you are a skilled professional in your industry, and meet eligibility criteria, you can apply for an
incentive payment to help you retrain as a TAFE teacher.
The program also provides one-on-one mentor support from a lead teacher at TAFE to support you
as you develop your teaching skills.
To become a TAFE teacher you will enrol in and complete your Certificate IV in Training and
Assessment TAE40116.
Round two applications are open until September 10th 2021.
The program will provide a total of up to $10,000 to people with industry experience in areas where workers are in demand.
Whether you’re starting your study, upskilling, or already studying teaching, you may be eligible to
apply.
The scholarship is structured to encourage and foster completion of a TAFE teaching qualification and employment as a teacher.
