Construction Induction Card (White Card formerly Red Card Training)

Short Course

Overview

The Construction Induction Card will qualify you to work safely in the construction industry. This course is recognised by WorkSafe in the registration of construction workers for WH&S induction. Under WorkSafe Victoria requirements, all persons participating in on-site activities in the building and construction industry must undertake Construction Induction Card training prior to entering a construction workplace.

  • CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

A Statement of Attainment will be issued at the conclusion of the course.

Please Note: The Statement of Attainment received on the day of training is valid for 60 days, allows the participant to perform construction work while WorkSafe process their Construction Induction Card. You will be required to present photo ID on the day of training.

When enrolling into this course under “Available Sessions” below, you must use a personal email address as your primary email address. You will not be able to receive your qualification with a work email address. My eQuals (the qualification platform) will not accept a work email.

Transfers and Refunds

A refund or transfer is only possible if you apply at least 5 business days prior to the course commencing. A standard handling charge of 10% of the advertised course fee will be deducted from each refund. Requests for refunds or transfers made within five business days of the course start date will not be eligible.

Requirements

Basic English reading and writing skills.

Anyone who is under the age of 16, must provide a letter on company letterhead from the principal of their school or employer before enrolling into course.

You must present photo ID on the day of training (see below for acceptable ID documents).


Types of Identity Documents
The documents listed below are examples of documents that can be used as proof of identity. Other documents may be used as long as the document as a minimum provides proof of the participant's full name as well as a photo:
  • Passport (Australian Passport current or expired within the last two years, but not cancelled, International Passport must be current)
  • Driver's Licence - Australian with photo, must be current
  • Driver's Learners Permit - Australian with photo, must be current
  • Boat Operator's Licence - Australian with photo, must be current
  • Firearm Licence - Victorian with photo, must be current. (Can accept interstate Firearms Licence as long as it contains a photo and is current)
  • Licence to Perform High Risk Work or equivalent photo certificate of competency that is current, not expired
  • State, Territory or Federal Government Employee ID card with photo
  • Other Australian Government issued ID card with photo
  • Photo identity card issued by a Tertiary Education Institution must be current
  • Keypass ID Card with photo, must be current
  • Consumer Affairs Victoria Proof of Age Card with photo

Please arrive at 8:30am for registration. Training commences at 9:00am sharp

Materials

The following specific equipment is essential for learners to complete their assessment requirements. Learners must obtain the following PRIOR to beginning the course and ensure they have it on-hand at the request of their trainer:

  • Hard hat - Must be a hard hat suitable for use on a construction site (caps, beanies, or other casual head wear are not acceptable)
  • Safety vest - Must be a yellow or orange reflective hi-vis vest
  • Safety glasses - Must be safety glasses suitable for use on a construction site (sunglasses or prescription glasses are not acceptable)
  • Hearing protection - Must be either foam ear plugs or ear muffs suitable for use on a construction site (headphones or other casual head wear are not acceptable)
  • Students to provide their own pen and notepad
  • You must bring photo ID such as a driver's license or passport
