WorkSafe safety awareness for young people

18 Jun 2013

A few weeks ago WorkSafe visited NMIT’s Heidelberg campus to launch a new public safety campaign for young people.

'If you're not sure, ask' encourages young people in the workplace to speak up rather than risk a workplace injury because they are not sure how something is done.

A pavement artist drew large portraits of the two lead characters from the young workers campaign to highlight the dangers of not speaking up.

Take a look at our video to hear what our Heidelberg students and staff had to say about the campaign and visit.

According to Worksafe over 2,000 young people are injured in Victorian workplaces each year.

For more information on working safely see Worksafe Information for Young Workers and Worksafe Information for Supervisors, or visit the 'If you're not sure, ask' Campaign website.
