Picture You Picture Me postcard winner announced

Emily Spiezia, a Year 8 student at The Academy of Mary Immaculate in Fitzroy, is the winner of the 2008 Picture You Picture Me competition at NMIT. Emily will have her 'Self Portrait' entry produced as an Avant Card. Her submitted work was a linocut over a sprayed stencilled background.

Art teacher at The Academy of Mary Immaculate, Mr Martin McInerney submitted entries from his Year 8 class to the competition run by the Visual Arts Department at NMIT. Judges Pat Mackle and Nadia Mignome from Avant Card said the judging was difficult as the entries were clever and eye catching but Emily's entry was chosen as it was a portrait image would stand out on the Avant Card postcard rack
