Passion for their craft sets Hairdressing finalists apart

24 Jun 2015

Congratulations to Kasey Haldane and Weeam Bitar, Melbourne Polytechnic Hairdressing students who are finalists in the Hair & Beauty Industry Association’s (HBIA) ‘Student, Apprentice and Educator Awards for Hairdressing’ in Victoria.

Weeam and Kasey, who are completing the Certificate III in Hairdressing, were nominated by their teacher, Josie Parrelli, who feels they are great examples of passionate professionals.

“It has been evident from day one that these students continue to strive for the best and love what they do, always wanting to learn, know, and seek as much information about their subjects and chosen career as they can,” said Ms Parrelli.

Kasey and Weeam both recently also competed in the HBIA Australian Hairdressing Championships against students from other schools and salons in Victoria.

“They are always keen to participate in new endeavours whether it be hairdressing shows, courses, photo shoots, or work experience opportunities; these two students are always the first in line,” said Ms Parrelli. “Their enthusiasm and love of their craft is such a pleasure to have in the classroom, and they have become mentors to new students that have just commenced their hairdressing careers.”

Given that the criteria for the finalists are career and study achievements, personal skills, and achievement in other pursuits, it’s clear these ladies are destined for success.

We wish Weeam and Kasey the very best of luck for the HBIA Awards Cocktail Ceremony on Monday 29 June!
