NMIT Super Thursdays December 12

02 Dec 2013

Super Thursday is on again! On December 12 NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) will be running a Super Thursday event across all metropolitan campuses.

These events give students the chance to come in to NMIT and learn more about what the institute has to offer.

Super Thursdays are a lot like open days, except they happen all throughout the year. NMIT’s doors are opened up to anyone interested in finding out more about the institute. NMIT hosts talks on specific courses, as well as general information about the different departments and the Institute as a whole.

Super Thursdays are a great chance to come in and find out more about NMIT ahead of VTAC applications.

Current NMIT student Floyd Footman found himself a bit lost nearing the end of VCE when he found out about Super Thursdays. “I was finishing year 12, but wasn’t sure where I was going afterwards. I came into a Super Thursday at Preston to find out what my options were.”

Floyd ended up enrolling in the Diploma of Tourism program. “It was really good to talk to teachers, I didn’t really know what the tourism industry was all about until I came in,” he said. “The teachers were able to give me a really good idea of what the different courses were like.”

Floyd is graduating from the Advanced Diploma of Tourism this year, and will take his studies even further to a degree course. “I really enjoy my course, plus I’ve knocked a year off a degree.”
