NMIT record label ‘taps’ into Commbank ad deal

26 Feb 2014

The Bachelor of Music Industry student label, Shuttersnap Records, has just secured a license deal for a national advertising campaign with the Commonwealth Bank.

The advertisement features some dynamic tap dancing to "Swagger" by Sweets a track written and performed by NMIT Bachelor of Music Industry graduate Annabelle Tunley and produced by Mark Lang (Lecturer and Label Director), Nick Huggins and NMIT Bachelor of Music Head of Program Dr Greg Arnold.

Annabelle is one of the first graduates in the NMIT Bachelor of Music Industry (BMI) and the first signing to the BMI’s recording label.

As a working label Shuttersnap Records gives NMIT students the chance to see how an independent record company finds, signs, produces, releases and markets an act in the context of real industry practices as delivered by BMI’s David Haberfeld (Lecturer and Co-Head of Label) and Mark Lang.

“This is an unbelievable outcome for any label with their first act, we are absolutely thrilled for all of the students involved” said Dr Greg Arnold.

The advertisement aired last night for the first time nationally on TV.
