16 Aug 2013

There’s plenty to see and do at this year’s NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) Open Day.

Held at NMIT’s picturesque Fairfield campus, Open Day visitors can:

  • Enjoy live student music performances, literary readings, and artwork exhibitions.
  • Relax in the beautiful garden surrounds our Fairfield campus, enjoy a coffee at the Nursery cafe or stock up your garden for spring at the campus nursery.
  • Watch and chat to design and illustration students working in the campus studios, talk to sound production students as they set up and stage manage live music productions or conduct ProTools demonstrations
  • Take a wine appreciation quiz (with our viticulture and wine making staff).
  • Tour photography facilities.
  • Check out earth moving and agricultural machinery.
  • Talk with our teachers and students for information and demonstrations on a huge range of NMIT programs – from Agriculture to Hospitality and Animal Studies to Winemaking and more.

There’s also a FREE BBQ with sausages and bread made by NMIT students. Kids can hand feed a lamb (courtesy of NMIT’s Earth Sciences faculty) and there’s even a free rosemary bush for any Dads (it’s Father’s Day) from our friendly Horticulture department in the plant nursery.

Explore, discover and find out about our courses, our facilities, and our teachers and get organised for a new future in 2014.
