Writing and Publishing students launch new online audio journal

04 May 2012

Bachelor of Writing and Publishing have just launched the first issue of their new audio journal, From the Courses' Mouth. You can listen to the audio and view the wonderful album covers designed by Bachelor of Illustration students by visiting Issue one.

The new online journal will publish podcasts of short audio bites of NMIT student writing. Podcasts may include micro-fiction, short fiction, excerpts from longer works, monologues, poetry, non-fiction and interviews.

Offerings in Issue one include Sarah Billington reading from The Kiss Off; an excerpt from Jan Robinson's memoir Down to the core, a personal journey through leukaemia and near death; Kylie Brusaschi explores in Carnival notions of woman as object, sideshow, something to be gazed upon and the idea that approval is only obtained through the objectifying of the self publicly.

The final contribution is an engaging editor interview between Course lecturer Alice Robinson, and students Amanda Kontos and Linda Ruby-White on writing, writing styles and studying writing and publishing.
