Victorian Premier John Brumby visits NMIT Heidelberg

Staff and students at NMIT's Heidelberg Campus received a visit today from Victorian Premier John Brumby.

Accompanied by Education and Skills Minister Bronwyn Pike and Eltham Labor MP Steve Herbert Mr Brumby toured through the metal fabrication area and bricklaying before moving on to the Building Barn where he chatted with Certificate III in Carpentry apprentices.

Mr Brumby also held a press conference in the Building Barn where he pledged that 2000 Victorian apprentices would be employed every year for the next four years on the Government's multi-billion-dollar building program.
