International Organisation holds meeting at NMIT

15 May 2013

The Bachelor of Hospitality Management program hosted the Benchmarking Workshop of THE-ICE (the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education) which was held at the Conference Centre at Preston campus on Friday 5 April 2013.

Fifteen participants from nine different universities and other institutions took part in a day of benchmarking discussions, and the feedback received was very positive.

Material produced in the discussions will be formed into a Best Practice Statement for the teaching of ethics in hospitality and tourism by THE-ICE.

A new videoconferencing facility was installed in the NMIT Conference Centre at Preston, and was used for the first time at the workshop as one of the speakers presented from Queensland.

NMIT has official observer membership status in activities of THE-ICE.
