Heard it on the (ABC) Grapevine

28 Jul 2009

NMIT Aradale campus Vineyard Supervisor, Ben Pietsch, recently made a great ambassador for NMIT's viticulture and winemaking program on the Drive Program on ABC 774 Radio.

Ben was interviewed by Drive host, Lindy Burns, on Monday 20 July regarding the Australian Pruning Competition - an annual event organised by Grampians Winemakers Inc and hosted by NMIT at it's Aradale (Ararat) campus vineyards.

Ben provided some great insights into the competition and the skills required for professional grapevine pruning. He also highlighted a new event in the competition - the NMIT Student Event.

You can also read an article regarding the Australian Pruning Competition featuring Ben Pietsch in the Weekly Times (online edition) - Vine time for pruning champs (31 July 2009).

Well done Ben on being a great spokesperson for NMIT's Viticulture and Winemaking program.
