Eat, drink and learn at the Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival

20 Apr 2016

Melbourne is crazy about food, there is no doubt about it, and at Melbourne Polytechnic we love teaching food, talking food, and hosting food events.

So we’re proud to be hosting events for the Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival, 9-15 May, 2016.

Not surprisingly, with one of the most culturally diverse populations in Melbourne, Darebin’s popular festival celebrates food traditions across many cultures, and provides attendees with insights into techniques that have traditionally been handed down through families.

Sustainable food practices are also spotlighted, and if you’ve been dabbling in homemade wine, beer, passata, ajvar or olives, you can enter your creations in the festival’s competitions for a chance to win a gift voucher from ‘Home Make It’ in Reservoir. But be quick, entries close on Wednesday 4 May.

The events being hosted by Melbourne Polytechnic are listed below, but it’s well worthwhile also checking the festival’s website for the other fantastic events running during festival week. You might also feel inspired to do one of our fabulous Cookery courses!
