Dr Ernest Mudogo FCMA (UK), Head of Accounting Degree Programs, has joined CPA Australia under the mutual recognition agreement with CIMA (UK).
Dr. Mudogo is entitled to use the FCPA designation after his name. Becoming a Fellow of CPA demonstrates many years of senior experience in accounting, finance or business. Membership of CPA has both benefits and obligations to uphold the reputation of the CPA designation. As the CPA website indicates, CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with a membership of more than 144,000 finance, accounting and business professionals in 127 countries across the globe.
“I feel very excited to become a fellow,” said Dr. Mudogo. “It is recognition that you have reached the highest point of professional achievement in accounting. This is something that I have been working towards for my whole professional life. It feels great to be recognised!”
As an academic, Dr. Mudogo has held senior appointments at Massey University (New Zealand) as a senior lecturer and at Zayed University (United Arab Emirates) as an associate professor. In addition to this, Dr. Mudogo was the chief technical advisor in public financial management reforms for the government of Tanzania for eight years prior to starting with NMIT.
Dr. Mudogo joined NMIT in 2012 as Head of the Accounting Degrees Program. The Bachelor of Accounting at NMIT offers a focus on sustainability and environmental management. This specialty is delivered as the financial sector continues to focus on sustainability, environmental ethics and cost efficiency.
