What attracted you to completing the Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery?
As I never did a formal apprenticeship, the opportunity to have formal recognition of my skills was a major incentive to complete the course.
It also enables me to keep up with changing legislation that is currently in place within our Industry.
How would you describe the training experience with Melbourne Polytechnic Trainers?
Feedback was given at each stage of the program. It helps when you know that the trainer has Industry experience as you know that you can rely on their knowledge to help you with completing the course. They can explain the direct relation from a theory perspective to how it can physically impact on day-to-day work issues.
Melbourne Polytechnic has partnered with Spotless to provide Hospitality workplace training
The first Spotless group graduates from Melbourne Polytechnic's workplace training program in the Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) have completed their qualifications.
Since Melbourne Polytechnic launched workplace training in the Certificate IV in 2009 Jodie Harrison (Chef Manager) of Coles Somerton is the first employee of the Spotless group to complete this qualification.
Working with Spotless, Melbourne Polytechnic was able to deliver the required units as a compliment to Jodie's work schedule. Read more…
