Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Australian Apprenticeships (incorporating Traineeships and Apprenticeships) are the best way to combine training and employment and they can lead to a nationally recognised qualification.

Melbourne Polytechnic offer apprenticeships in a variety of certificate levels, in a diverse range of emerging careers in most sectors of earth sciences industry.

All traineeship programs offer the following features:

  • regular workplace visits
  • email and phone support throughout the program
  • elective choices to suit the particular job role
  • all course resources and materials
  • flexible, customised assessments
  • workshops
  • Skills Recognition (RPL)

With prior work experience and qualifications you may be able to fast track your next qualification in agriculture, animal studies, horticulture or other areas such as Workplace Health and Safety. This could cut down study time and costs significantly.

  • Workplace Assessment
  • Skills Assessment
  • Local/Overseas Trade Recognition Assessment

The faculty has a number of Industry trained assessors who can visit your premises and assess you and/or your staff.  Assessment can take the form of observation, questioning and sometimes formal testing is applied so that the required level of competency can be demonstrated.

Assessments can be done for as little as one staff member or your whole team.
