What now after Open Day?

Where to now after Open Day?

You went to Open Day at Melbourne Polytechnic, met the teachers, chatted with current students, tried a few hands-on skills, looked around the classrooms, workshops and amenities and now you know what you want to study.

Your questions were answered by staff, the Melbourne Polytechnic website course pages helped with further details and you even asked one last question of the call centre staff on 9269 8400 or Live Chat. Or you stopped in at the Skills and Jobs Centre at Northland to speak to Education and Course Advisors there.

Your mind is made up, so now it’s time to register

Applications for tertiary study are handled by the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC), which administers the application process for course places. The website – www.vtac.edu.au – is your entry point to getting into the course you want.

It also has all the information on prerequisites for courses, such as specific requirements of Unit 3 and 4 subjects, or whether you need to have an interview or present a folio of work or audition.

You start the application process on the website by creating a VTAC account, providing personal details, citizenship and residency details, your current study status (e.g. VCE and VCAL, interstate Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate) and contact details.

Ready to Apply?

Once you are registered, you will be given a VTAC ID and PIN, so you can start the application process by hitting the Login to apply button, then select Course application.

You can apply for up to eight courses, so put your Melbourne Polytechnic selection as your No. 1 choice.

Applications are already open, and all the important due dates and fees are listed on the VTAC website.
