If this is you, our Job Preparation course is for you!
Prior to entry, you will be assessed by our experienced teachers. They will provide you with an individually tailored learning program suitable for your needs. The pre-training assessment will examine your learning goals so they can be included in your study program.
The aim is to develop your digital, literacy and numeracy skills to help prepare you for work and /or further education and training.
We will teach you the skills to be able to search for employment and participate fully in the community.
You will gain literacy, language, numeracy and digital skills to prepare you for employment outcomes or further study.

The Australian Government's Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program offers free training in reading, writing, English language, maths and digital skills.
You can start at your own level, learn at your own pace, and choose training based on your needs and goals. You can learn in the classroom, in the workplace or remotely.

The Student Services and Amenities Fee is charged at forty cents (40 cents) per student contact hour and is capped over a twelve (12) month period, effective from the enrolment date, to:
Amenities fees are used to improve non-academic services including libraries, counselling services, student support, and recreational activities.
You will need to buy your own workbooks and stationery. Melbourne Polytechnic recommends you buy a calculator and a dictionary. We will supply photocopied worksheets. You'll also have access to a wide range of services and facilities at the school such as counselling, library facilities and access to the Job & Skills Centre.
Participants must be aged 15 years and over and left school. There are no limitations to entry based on educational background. You will be interviewed before placement in the program. Contact the Foundation Department to arrange an interview time and date.
All students undertake a pre-training interview and an LLN assessment to ascertain their level for appropriate class placement. If that assessment identifies that students require additional support, they will be encouraged to access relevant support services.
