Our Skills and Job Centres provide expert advice on training and employment opportunities.  The centres are a community resource, funded by the state government. Our staff support people with their careers and match industry with skilled employees.

Our staff are energised by career challenges and uncovering great opportunities. We have two Skills and Job Centres, at Northland and Plenty Valley. Make an appointment today to meet our team – your next big career move could be just waiting for you.

Who can use the Centres?

Anybody can make an appointment to meet with our experienced advisors. There are no eligibility requirements. You might find our services especially useful if you:

  • have recently migrated to Australia 
  • are a retrenched worker or you are unemployed
  • are a student, an apprentice or trainee, or are thinking about studying
  • are returning to work after a long-term unpaid caring role
  • are considering a career change and want guidance to plan your next steps

What services do we offer?

We provide a range of free services to help you achieve your career goals:

  • Careers advice
  • Help with job searching
  • Career counselling
  • Assistance preparing resumes
  • Apprenticeship and traineeship advice
  • Assistance using the Victorian Skills Gateway
  • Referral to welfare support and financial advice
  • Assistance in using your existing skills to align to a new job or to undertake new training (Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL))
  • Information on employment trends, areas with a shortage in skills and employment opportunities
  • Assistance with career and training plans, identifying training qualifications that could be undertaken to make a successful career transition
