Case Study: Engaging with Chinese Tourists

It's estimated that more than 2,000 Chinese tourists pass through every week or on the way to or from the Great Ocean Road. Communication between businesses and tourists can create barriers to engagement. Melbourne Polytechnic collaborated between industry and TAFE and training systems to enhance the communication of local businesses and Chinese tourists. Melbourne Polytechnic is educating TAFE trainers to include Chinese customer engagement material in hospitality courses.
