Wineries

At Melbourne Polytechnic, our viticulture and winemaking students get practical work experience in one of our two wineries. Study at our 100-tonne winery at our Epping campus and a 250-tonne winery at our Ararat Training Centre. Both wineries use grapes grown at Melbourne Polytechnic’s vineyards and produce wines that are served at our student restaurants.

Training in our wineries gives you an excellent opportunity to witness and participate first-hand in commercial winemaking. Our wineries also process grapes through to bulk or bottled wine for other Victorian grape growers. This range of batch sizes and diversity of varieties means allows our students watch and taste the development process from crushed grapes to finished wine. You’ll gain valuable, practical cellar and wine analysis skills, preparing you for Australia’s internationally renowned wine industry.
