The Work Education Department’s courses provide individual training developed for each student by setting objectives to meet his or her needs and goals.

They aim to give students the best possible opportunity to gain employment or to undertake further training and to maximise student's full potential in work and non work activities.

Certificate I in Transition Education - Work Education Department

Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Melbourne Polytechnic's Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy is a program designed to improve skills in reading, writing, numeracy, listening and oral communication based on your needs and interests to increase independence and active participation in the community.

Short Courses
Textile Art
This Melbourne Polytechnic program will allow students with a disability and/or learning difficulties to explore every day art and sculptures, and participate community art projects.

Garden Maintenance
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with a disability and/or learning difficulties will plan a garden project.

Choir
Get in tune with Melbourne Polytechnic's short course choir! Students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore various musical styles.

Animation
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore different aspects of animation and its use in the commercial world. Commercials, cartoons, films and comics are included.

Personal Presentation
This Melbourne Polytechnic program aims to give students with a disability and/or learning difficulty hands-on experiences to assist with personal presentation.

Cafe Culture
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will explore the industry via visits to coffee shops.

Woodcraft
This Melbourne Polytechnic course allows students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties to explore working with wood through simple projects.

Life Skills Cooking
In this Melbourne Polytechnic program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will learn how to stock a pantry with cooking essentials, and to cook simple meals on a budget.

A Fitter Me
In this Melbourne Polytechnic training program, students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties will learn about improving their health and wellbeing.
