Melbourne Polytechnic’s Photo Imaging program is focused on learning practical photographic skills and developing strong industry knowledge.

All of our students produce professional photographic folios, showcasing industry standard skills and a highly developed personal style.

Industry connections and resources

Our teachers are industry professionals who will guide and support you throughout your course of study, providing opportunities to become involved with industry and collaborate with other students in Melbourne Polytechnic’s creative arts network. A series of excursions, visiting speakers, industry-relevant projects and course exhibitions will ensure you are thoroughly prepared for the professional photographic industry.

Courses
Certificate III in Visual Arts
Push the boundaries of your creative practice. We give you the head start you need in the competitive world of art and design. Our practical course will teach you foundational skills and critical thinking to broaden your career opportunities. Our first intake is May 2017!

Certificate IV in Visual Arts
Extend and develop your creative practice – think about how to explore your research questions within the visual medium. Our Certificate IV in Visual Arts is a hands-on course in painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photo media and digital media. You can also use these skills to gain work in related fields such as advertising, marketing, design and teaching.

Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging
Develop your photographic eye with a qualification recognised as one of the best in the industry. Push the boundaries of your creative practice, learn new photographic techniques and how to market yourself – we’ll get you on track to working in the industry today.

Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development
Enhance and develop your creative practice with our Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development. Designed with industry insight, you will learn advanced technical, creative and conceptual skills. After completing one of our diploma level qualifications (art, design, illustration, photography) enrich your practice and professional opportunitites.
