This course will give the participants the skills and knowledge required in Electrical Safety and basic electrical principles to enable them to apply to Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) for their RESTRICTED ELECTRICAL WORKER’S LICENCE. The licence will entitle the holder to carry out electrical installation work involving disconnection and reconnection of equipment as indicated on the licence.

Prerequisite

A relevant trade, such as plumbers, mechanical fitters, refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanics.

If you are planning to apply for a Restricted Electrical Worker’s Licence, you must be competent in a relevant field where the disconnection and reconnection work to be carried out is a significant function of your job. This licence is purely for the disconnection/reconnection of like for like equipment, for the purposes of repair, replacement and maintenance.

PLUS

UEENEEP101A Apply occupational health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace (this unit will be covered during the course).

Recommended

Persons who are considering obtaining this licence should contact ESV on 1800 815 721 (free call) to confirm the suitability of the primary work function and clarify which categories they will be eligible for prior to commencing course work. This is especially important for those who are not a standard plumber replacing a hot water service or fitter replacing a motor.

Please note

A RESTRICTED ELECTRICAL WORKERS LICENCE CLASS 2 will not be automatically issued at the completion of the course work. Participants must successfully pass an assessment in each category they seek a licence. A statement of attainment will only be awarded when a successful pass has been achieved. This statement can then be presented to ESV for a licence application.

ESV requires testing in each category requiring endorsement.
