Gavin Drew has a long working history in the agricultural industry and education. Commencing his career as a high school teacher in Geelong, Gavin soon moved on to the Victorian Department of Agriculture as an Extension Officer.
This position eventually led to Gavin taking up an appointment as a lecturer with the University of Melbourne’s Glenormiston College. The lecturer in agribusiness position eventually lead to Gavin being appointed the Head of Campus/Principal at the University of Melbourne’s Longerenong Campus as well as working for Workco Ltd.
In 2009 Gavin’s extensive experience and knowledge was acknowledged when he was employed here as a lecturer in Agribusiness in the Bachelor of Agriculture and Land Management. In 2012 Gavin was appointed Head of Department, Primary Industries.
In his spare time Gavin is a passionate St Kilda Football Club member and a cricket umpire. He also enjoys classical music. Gavin is also a member of the Ballarat East Rotary Club and is a strong advocate for accessible education for all people, especially those who are disadvantaged and women.
