I started working here as a sessional tutor in February 2011.
Then in April 2011 I accepted a full-time position as a Subject Co-ordinator. When I completed Year 12 I did a Bachelor of Science at La Trobe University. Following this I did a postgraduate certificate in Aquatic and Terrestrial Environmental Management at Adelaide University.
In 1999 I completed a Cambridge ESL teaching course and spent the first 6 months of 2000 teaching English in Istanbul. When I returned to Australia, I undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education at RMIT University. Currently I am studying for my Masters of Education by research at the University of Melbourne.
Within the early childhood profession, I have worked across a diverse range of contexts including long day care, relief teaching agencies and sessional kindergartens. My primary teaching position was in a stand-alone kindergarten where I worked with three and four year old children. Later in my teaching career, I also became a Network Co-ordinator for the kindergarten’s cluster manager. This involved liaising with and supporting staff across five local kindergartens.
At the moment my spare time is mostly taken up with completing my Masters of Education. Outside of this, I swim regularly enjoy spending time in the garden and the luxury of reading non-fiction books.
