The Aquaculture Training and Applied Research Centre is a commercial-scale facility that is designed to give students education and training in one of the fastest growing primary industries in Australia and overseas.
The Centre includes indoor recirculating aquaculture systems, water quality laboratory, quarantine facility and a hatchery and larval fish rearing facility.
Other specialist areas include a live feeds production research laboratory for microalgae and zooplankton, and a fully equipped seafood processing facility for freezing, processing and packaging of product.
