Visiting Teacher from Burma Refugee Camp

Foundation Studies, Preston, recently hosted an ESL teacher/teacher trainer who works in a refugee camp on the Thai/Burmese border.

Tamla was a guest in the Foundation Studies Department, Preston, for three days from the 16th June. She was able to experience a range of ESL classes offered at NMIT, including the ESL vocational course and the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP). Tamla was also able to provide some valuable input to teachers regarding the wide range of ESL and vocational courses that are delivered in the refugee camp.

A group of Burmese students joined her on her last day here. Tamla was in Melbourne for three weeks to observe ESL programmes in the northern and western suburbs.
